FIXI is a system of fast money transfers, which in practice means that a private individual can receive or send an urgent money transfer without account opening in more than 75 world countries, where FIXI has agent locations.
Quick facts
- This service can be used by private individuals, who have reached the age of 18. You’ll need your passport to send or receive a money transfer.
- You can send or receive a money transfer in more than 70'000 agent locations.
- The beneficiary may receive an international money transfer within 15 minutes after it has been sent. In some cases (depending on the technical capacity and other features of the chosen destination) a money transfer may take a longer time, but the operator will certainly warn you about it in advance.
- Our fees amount to 2-3% of the transfer, which is much cheaper than the fees offered by similar international systems. To calculate the fee for a particular amount and destination use our handy calculator.
- Money transfers can be sent either in USD, EUR or in RUR.
- The maximum amount for one money transfer is USD 5000, EUR 5000 or RUR 150'000. Minimum transfer amount - USD 20, EUR 20 or RUR 500.
- Money transfers sent from abroad in USD, EUR or RUR can be received in the same currency* at the offices of JSC Eesti Krediidipank Latvia branch.
- You can check the status of your money transfer on FIXI’s website, in the „Status check” section.
- A money transfer can be cancelled or corrected, if it has not yet been issued to the addressee.
- An unclaimed money transfer is stored at the destination agent location for 30 days and is then automatically returned to the sending bank.
- On request and for a small additional fee FIXI can send an SMS to the beneficiary’s mobile phone with the details of the transfer or an SMS to the sender’s mobile phone to notify him that the transfer in question has already reached its addressee.
* If the transfer currency in the office is not available or currency amount is not enough to issue transfer completely, Bank can issue transfer in national currency or in other currency by client choice, if this currency is available in the office for complete transfer issue.
Note: in Latvia, you can receive your money transfer at any FIXI agent location regardless of which agent location is stated in the transfer form.
To send a money transfer, you need to:
- Come to a FIXI agent location.
- Produce your passport, state the beneficiary’s name, surname and father’s name (the latter is only needed to send a transfer to a country where fathers’ names are indicated in the passports of the citizens), the beneficiary’s phone number (optional) and the chosen destination city/town. The operator will help you select the most convenient FIXI agent location in the respective place.
- Verify that the data indicated by the operator in the transfer form are correct. Pay the transferable amount and the fee.
- Take a copy of the transfer form with the money transfer control number.
- Make the money transfer control number known to the beneficiary.
Warning! Beneficiary’s name, surname and father’s name must be free from errors and inaccuracies; otherwise the beneficiary may be unable to receive the transfer.
To receive a money transfer, you need to:
- Come to the FIXI agent location indicated as the destination in the transfer form (the sender will give you this information).
- Produce your passport, name the amount and the currency of the transfer, as well as its money transfer control number. You don’t even need to know the exact name and surname of the sender to receive your transfer.
How to cancel or correct a money transfer
In order to cancel or correct a money transfer you have to visit a FIXI agent location in Latvia, submit an application for cancellation or correction of the transfer, and show the money transfer form, which you’ve received from the operator when sending the transfer and which contains the money transfer control number.
Both cancellation and correction of money transfers are free of charge. Please note that the fee you paid when sending the transfer will not be returned.
Cancellation and correction of a money transfer can be accomplished in approximately 24 hours, because the bank must first of all verify that the transfer has not yet been paid out to the beneficiary.
Note: correction of a money transfer allows for small changes only (e.g. you can correct the beneficiary’s name or surname in case of inaccuracie). If the money transfer requires major corrections, it can be cancelled and afterwards sent new transfer.
